What are the check-in and check-out times?
Guests can access the room from 2:00 pm;
On departure day the room must be vacated by 11:00 am.

Is it possible to book an early check-in and/or a late check-out?
Early check in and late check out can be requested at any time. They are both subject to availability and additional fees.

Is there a luggage storage service in case of early arrival or late departure?
Hotel Aktea offers complimentary luggage storage for their guests, allowing them to leave their bags before check-in or after check-out.

Is there an indoor or outdoor parking facility? How much does it cost?
Hotel Aktea has an unattended outdoor parking lot, free of charge to all guests.

Can I bring my pet? Are there rooms available to accommodate my four-legged companion?
Hotel Aktea is a pet-friendly property.
Pet’s reservation is subject to confirmation and can only be accommodated in Comfort Rooms featuring a terrace and /or a garden
Guests with disabilities are allowed to bring a service dog

Can I daily visit the other islands?
Yes, by ferry, by hydrofoil or by organised boat excursions. Information and bookings are available at reception.

How many rooms does the hotel have?
The hotel has 40 rooms, all with a private terrace furnished with chairs and tables.

What is the view from the rooms?
There are skyline sea view rooms and garden/pool view rooms

Is there carpet flooring in the rooms?
None of the rooms have carpet.

Do all the rooms have showers and bathtubs?
Most of the rooms have showers and some have bathtubs. When you make your reservation specify your preference.

Are there family rooms or connecting rooms?
The Hotel has various types of connecting rooms that can accommodate different options from 4 to 5 people. They are the ideal for family stays. Specify your needs at booking time and we will try to provide suitable accommodation.

Are there Comfort Rooms and where are they located?
Yes, we have comfort rooms, they are more spacious and most of them are located in an adjacent building.


Are there cots/camp beds for children? Do they have an additional fee?
The Aktea Hotel has cots/camp beds for children at a daily fee of € 15.00 per night.

Do you have rooms for guests with special needs?
The hotel has 2 accessible rooms.

Do you have rooms for smokers?
The rooms at the Aktea Hotel are all no-smoking rooms. Smoking is allowed on the room’s terrace

Do rooms have air conditioning?
All rooms have central air conditioning with independent settings of +/- 3°

What are the opening hours of the restaurant?
Breakfast: from 07:30 to 10:00
Lunch: from 12:30 to 14:00
Pool Snack bar: from 14:00 to 19:00
Dinner: from 19:30 to 22:00

Is breakfast included in the rate? Does it include gluten-free products?
All room rates include breakfast. We serve, upon request gluten-free breakfast.

What type of service is provided in the hotel’s restaurant?
Buffet Service for breakfast and Table Service, menu à la carte, for lunch and dinner

Does half board and full board reservations include beverage?
All types of beverages are not included.

Do you have gluten-free menus?
Yes, we do, on request upon booking.

Do you offer vegetarian and vegan menus?
Our menu has vegetarian dishes and we can accommodate special requests.
Please specify your needs upon booking.

Are high chairs available for children in the restaurant?
High chairs are available free of charge in the restaurant for our little guests.

What’s the size of the swimming pool?
Our swimming is 24m long and 12m wide.

What are the pool access times?
The pool is open daily to guests from 09:00 to 19:30 (April – October).

Is it mandatory to use a swimming cap in the pool?
The use of a swimming cap is not mandatory.

Does the hotel provide pool towels?
Yes, the hotel provides guests with pool towels.

Can children access the pool? From what age?
Children under 14 need to be accompanied by an adult.

Does the pool have deck chairs and umbrellas?
Yes, deck chairs and umbrellas are available for guests.

Is there a pool restaurant?
The pool bar is open from 11:00 to 23:00 and from 14:00 to 19:00 the snack bar is open for salads, toasts, sandwiches and quick bites.

Is there a swimming pool entry fee?
Entry fee only applies to non guests.

– What are the places of greatest interest near the Hotel Aktea?
Positioned in a desirable location the Hotel Aktea allows you to easily reach many places of interest.
Here are some short distance attractions:
a) Historical Centre of Lipari: a stroll from the hotel, the historical town offers a fascinating labyrinth of characteristic alleys, ideal for walks to discover the local culture;
b) Lipari Castle and Aeolian Regional Archaeological Museum “Luigi Bernabò Brea”,: located on the fortified rock, in the so called Castle, overlooking the island, preserves and displays artifacts and findings unearthed from archaeological Aeolian sites;
c) Saint Bartholomew: inside the Citadel, right on top of the fortified rock, our very much worshipped Patron Saint crafted in real silver stands proudly at the altar.
d) Marina Corta Bay: a picturesque little port surrounded by bars and restaurants, perfect for an evening stroll and departure point for all the boat excursions to nearby islands.

– Can I walk to the hotel from the hydrofoil port? How far is it from the main street?
It is only 500 m on foot.
– How far is the hotel from the floating docks for private boats?
The hotel is only 500 m from Marina Lunga.
– Is it possible to rent a boat?
Yes, we can provide contact details for nearby rental companies.
– Is it worth bringing your own car to Lipari?
